Music: Oh No by Ok Go

FYI: We have hit 200 posts on our blog! Thank you to all of our loyal and first-time readers. Suggestions are, as always, regularly accepted though sometimes it may take us a while to get around to reviewing them! (Email our mother at cassandra [dot] fawson at gmail [dot] com and she'll pass it on, or include suggestions in the comments!

We've been listening to Ok, Go for a while now, especially since their single, Here we go again is featured on Rock Band, which our parents seem to never be able to get their fill of (annoying game, if you ask us). Their music doesn't have incredible lyrics, but it has such get-up-and-go that you can't help but wag your tail and run in tiny circles. Check it out for dance parties or a road-trip soundtrack!

"It starts out easy;
Something simple, something sleazy,
Something itching past the edge of reserve.
Now through the lines
Of the cheap venetian blinds,
Your car is pulling off of the curb."
--Here it Goes Again

"When they finally come to destroy the earth,
They'll have to go through you first.
I bet they won't be expecting that.
When they finally come to destroy the earth,
They'll have to deal with you first,
And now my money says they won't know about
The thousand Farenheit hot metal lights behind your eyes.
Invincible."
--Invincible

I've not listened to the entire album, but I'm a huge fan of Ok Go's two singles: "A Million Ways" and "Here It Goes Again".

And if you've somehow missed the videos to these two songs, go to YouTube now! They're super low budget, but super entertaining. They're both shot with a camcorder using one long stationary shot featuring the band dancing to steps choreographed by the lead singer's sister (who happens to be a professional ballroom dancer). The videos were both nominated for several awards, and "Here It Goes Again" actually won a Grammy for Best Short-Form Music Video.

...don't be fooled by the singer in the videos, though. The guy lip-syncing the lyrics is the bassist and not the band's actual singer. ...Just another bizarre/cool thing that makes me like the videos that much more.
